More good times ahead!

Posted on by Viv

You might feel like you’ve not seen us for a while – or maybe you don’t. The thing is, we all play in other bands too and although there’s not been “Good Times” stuff for a couple of months if you’ve been to a gig or open mic around these parts the chances are you’ve seen some of us. Here’s some pictures of parts of the band in action recently:

(Pics are Dursley Festival outside the Hop, Hawkwood Festival with the band Rain and vocalist Frank, Viv at Stathern Party in the Park with her old Leicestershire-based band Undercover Generation).

But you are probably reading this because you’ve seen us before and you’d like to see us again – and you are in luck! We’re repeating (not with the same set, mind!) two of our favourite gigs of last year, and both are free to enter.

First up: The Spot on Friday 21st August. We played in the glorious Spot garden twice last year, both times it properly went off. Dancing on tables, the whole thing. If you witnessed either of those, you’ll want to be there again. If you didn’t, you have a chance to remedy the situation.

Then: Dursley After Hours on Friday 28th August. We love Dursley After Hours so much! Every Friday over the summer the town comes alive. There’s burgers (thanks Dursley Lions), an outdoor bar (Kevin at the Hop), and all your favourite places in town are open for food and drinks.

It’s not even the first After Hours this year for some of us, you’ll have seen Viv (saxophone) in Sisters of Swing earlier: a gig so great it made the local news. And Dursley festival isn’t quite After Hours… but was that David (guitar) and Viv doing a Sideboard show, featuring Tony (bass) and Sophie (vocals) as guest musicians?

Drummer Graham and our ever-capable dep Andy are from further afield, but both have been busy at gigs, jams, and festivals all over the place. And Marcus (Trumpet, chaos)? He’s been busy with Ken Wood and the Mixers, and if you’ve been to the football locally you’ve probably heard him!

We are also taking bookings for Christmas, so if you are looking for some soul and funk grooves for a party, do contact us soon.
